Covid 19 Statement- Updated 17/03/20
Dear valued customer
Vital has been busy planning its response to the coronavirus outbreak over the last few weeks. We appreciate that everyone is very worried, and we are doing all we can to ensure continuity of supply for pet product retailers.
We have entered unprecedented territory and have been experiencing exceptionally high levels of demand across the country. To help manage order flow we will ask you to bear with us as some deliveries may take an extra day or two to arrive at your premises. We will do our very best to keep our communication open and regular regarding the status of your order.
Our warehouses are being kept well stocked and we’ve largely been able to accommodate any panic buying as it has affected pet food stocks and other staple products. Our delivery drivers have also been advised to take the precautions recommended by the government, including regular handwashing. We’re accommodating anyone who is practising social distancing at the point of delivery.
As part of our business continuity planning, we have engaged a third-party courier network which will ensure a more robust response in the event of different scenarios and give us an additional safety net.
Restrictions are also being put in place for our field sales team who will become office-based for the foreseeable future. We are also limiting people visiting our sites around the country to preserve the health and safety of our office staff.
We are encouraging customers in the Channel Islands to exercise vigilance and keep abreast of the government guidelines on transportation link closures which may impact deliveries.
This is obviously a fast-moving situation and we’ll be providing regular updates on our social media platforms, so encourage our customers to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for the latest news. Retailers can also contact their dedicated account manager if they have any questions.
